The Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu has responded to the call to of her supporters to begin her campaign towards 2019 general election.
In a statement released by the Senate Chair of Foreign Affairs Committee, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu said she is being guided and abide by the electoral rules that state 18th November, 2018 as the commencement of the campaign, "INEC has stated very clearly that Federal campaigns are to commence on 18 November 2018. That means any campaigning prior to that date is not allowed"
She further said, "Election is a race: we all know it is a 'false-start' to start running before the gun sounds. The umpire knows the rules and is observing"
She then assured her supporters and groups under the auspices of O-SURE GROUP, TEAMSMS, SMS VANGUARD and host of others that, she has accepted their call to start campaign but will do when the gun of the campaign sound.
