OFFICIAL: STUDENT DEPARTS FOR FULLY FUNDED MASTERS SCHOLARSHIP CHINA- SUNMONU
The Senator representing Oyo Central has announced that another of her constituents has been sponsored on a fully funded masters scholarship to the People’s Republic of China.
On Sunday, Sunmonu bid farewell to Aliu Omotayo, the most recent beneficiary of the programme as he departed Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos for Beijing China.
Aliu Omotayo is a first class graduate of University of Ilorin and is to study a Masters in Business Administration at the Beijing Normal University, China. His scholarship includes travel, tuition, accommodation, stipends and comprehensive medical insurance.
In an appreciation letter to received by Sunmonu, Aliu said "I am not a politician nor do I know any, but as a constituent I just tried with much skepticism yet you cleared my doubts. Throughout the application process, I never met you or have any sort of discussions with you personally but your office gave me unwavering support."
The former Oyo State Speaker in June welcomed back to Nigeria one of the previous beneficiaries of the scholarship programme, Azeez Olayemi, who graduated this year (2018) from the Wuhan University of Technology with a Distinction in his Masters in Economics.
NB: As you may know, it is not the practice of Sen. Sunmonu to publish names of beneficiaries of her efforts, but Azeez has previously taken to social media to thank Sen. Sunmonu for her efforts, while Aliu and his family insisted they wish the public to know the assistance rendered.
